• Delegation for the 2010 Mont-Sainte-Anne (Canada) UCI Mountain Bike and Trial World Championships visits Val di Sole

Québec City, June 11, 2008 - The organizing committee for the 2010 World Championships will be in Val di Sole (Italy) on a preparation mission during the 2008 World Championships, which will be taking place from June 16 to 22.

Canada to host World Championships in 2010
In September of last year, the UCI chose Mont-Sainte-Anne, Quebec (Canada) to host the 2010 World Championships. The Canadian site, located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Quebec City, is hosting its 18th UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in 2008, and will be one of the only sites (with Vail, CO), to have the honour of hosting the World Championships in the same sport twice. It's also headquarters to Canada's Marie-Hélène Prémont, the current circuit leader in the UCI Cross Country World Cup. The Gestev event management team, which heads up the organization of these cycling events, will also be celebrating 20 years of organizing mountain biking events in 2010 at the Mountain Bike & Trial World Championships.

Meeting with journalists in Val di Sole
This trip was planned by the 2010 organizing committee as a research mission during the World Championships in Italy, in an effort to leave nothing to chance in its own preparations for this new challenge in two years' time.

The Gestev team will be on location in the press room at the World Championships in Val di Sole to meet with the journalists they will in turn be hosting in Canada in 2010, and will be happy to give them a preview of what they can expect in 2010. Following this exchange, the World Championships organizing committee in Canada will keep the media up to date on preparations for the 2010 event. Don’t miss this rendez-vous in the press room of the World Championships in Val di Sole, from June 18 to 22.
